Here's why Google Bard is going to win ⬇️
Quick context 🗓
ChatGPT3 by OpenAI has been in news for the right reasons. It got to 5 million users in like few weeks & currently has over 13 million users.
And, Google is coming into the generative AI race 🎯
It launched it's conversational bot (of sorts) for internal testers right inside "Google Search".
So why will Bard win over ChatGPT? ⬇️
First/ number of data points. 🎯
Both ChatGPT & Bard focused on getting billions of data points. OpenAI allegedly got it from Microsoft. Bard will get it from it's Google mothership. But, the Google scale is crazy high compared to anything else on the planet.
Second/ contextual data points 💪🏻
You can buy data points, but the context of it is equally important. When Google gets a data point it spans user personas and their behaviours across Google ecosystem. And, across every freaking website that Google indexed, MAD!
Third/ distribution is still the king in 2023 👑
Google owns the verb "search". It spent billions building that user behaviour for over a billion users. All it has to do is to solve for discovery on it's core offering. (Check the below screenshot of Bard UI).
Fourth/ ecosystem play vs single product 🐟
History will repeat itself from the Microsoft Teams beating Slack by enabling "Teams" on every freaking pricing plan for free at the beginning. Google can do Bard for free what ChatGPT will charge $30 for. Google will monetise Bard with ads, period.
Fifth/ compounding source for versions 🛸
Think of it like the whole Tesla Full Self Drive example. Each Tesla on every US road sends a data point about road condition, driving records and more. Every time this happens, every Tesla car with FSD gets better at driving that road. This is exactly what will happen with Google's 1 billion users & Bard.
But, more importantly, both will create an ecosystem ✨
ChatGPT has done some level of ripples. Both Bard and ChatGPT will create a category for this whole new tech infra for next few decades to come.
So what's next for Bard? 🎯
The product will solve for experience, no doubt about it. Short answer - solve for everything that can screw up it's reputation. Google will be very careful. Can understand their PoV on how one wrong implication of generative Ai and lawmakers start antitrust against them.
